Fun With Stalking Campaign Donors

Thanks to the fine folks at HuffPo you can totally stalk your friends, neighbors, and enemies' campaign contributions (over 200 bucks only). I used it to search by the job category "professor" and found the follow shocking results:

$9,495,436 was given by people who identified their occupation as "professor."

$812,462 from 982 people to Republicans.

$8,682,974 from 11,036 people to Democrats.

There you have it! A liberal bias in the professoriate, hurray!

Go and play with it and tell us what you find! Prizes will be given!

I was quite surprised by my search for employer "Texas A&M University":

$43,827 was given by people who identified their employer as "Texas A&M university."

$12,842 from 23 people to Republicans

$30,985 from 62 people to Democrats

Then maybe this is why profs are so unpopular in Texas. What I find interesting is that there isn't so much a difference between the number of people who have, as there is disparity of amount. Apparently, only social workers support Democrats.

$111,879 was given by people who identified their employer as "State of Texas".

$70,731 from 81 people to Republicans

$41,148 from 75 people to Democrats
